Jim has been <br />employed by the City for more than twenty years (September 30, 1996). Attached is <br />Resolution 8829, which authorizes severance to Mr. Ericson in accordance with the City's <br />Personnel Manual. <br />Discussion <br />Section 3.47 of the Personnel Manual indicates that employees who resign shall be <br />compensated for any accrued and unused vacation hours and, with two or more years of <br />service, employees are eligible to receive a payout of sick leave sick subject to the terms <br />and provisions addressed in Section 3.45 regarding the Retirement Health Savings Plan. <br />Employees that had 10 years of service on 01-01-2008 were eligible for enhanced sick <br />leave payout of 65%. There are 6 employees remaining that are eligible under this <br />provision.
