RESOLUTION 8857 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SONETICS HEARING PROTECTION WHEREAS, one of the responsibilities of the Public Works Department is to repair water main breaks; it is essential for crew members to have clear communication while performing this work; and, WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has discussed and researched what kind of technology is available to assist with alleviating this issue of not having clear communication; and, WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has researched options for headsets with the ability of communication functions built in and found the Sonetic brand of headset with two way communication; and, WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has received a quote for (4) APX377 Sonetic headsets with a charging case and communication hub, from Macqueen Equipment of St. Paul for a total of $7,195.00: from: WHEREAS, Funding for hearing protection is in the 2017 budget and would be allocated Parks — account 100-4360-1600 $1,000.00 Street Pavement Management - account 100-4470-1230 $1,000.00 Water — account 700-4823-1600 $2,195.00 Sanitary Sewer— account 730-4823-1600 $1,500.00 Storm Water — account 745-4415-16001� 500_00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Accepts the quote from MacQueen Equipment of St. Paul MN for (4) APX377 Sontec headsets with charging case and communication hub for $7,195.00. 2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator, staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
