�T� j7�pT Item No: 08B <br />M®_JNLS V ll.�V Meeting Date: December 9, 2013 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />Administrator Review: � I - <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report U <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8186, Approving Severance for Gregory <br />Randolph of the Mounds View Police Department <br />Background <br />Gregory Randolph submitted his resignation as a police officer, and his last day of <br />employment was on November 18, 2013. Attached is Resolution 8186, which authorizes <br />severance to Gregory Randolph in accordance with the LELS Local 204 Labor Agreement. <br />In accordance with Article 23.1 (A) of the current labor agreement: <br />Upon Separation from employment with the City, employees with less <br />than twenty (20) years of service and leave in good standing will <br />receive a lump -sum taxable severance compensation for all accrued <br />vacation and compensatory time. <br />Discussion <br />Resolution 8186 provides a payout of Gregory Randolph's accrued/unused vacation time. In <br />accordance with Article 23.1, Gregory Randolph is authorized a vacation time payout totaling <br />$262.66. This is calculated as 12.32 accrued/unused vacation hours times his hourly rate of <br />$21.32. <br />Resolution 8186 also provides a payout of Gregory Randolph's compensatory time. In <br />accordance with Article 23.1, Gregory Randolph is authorized a compensatory time payout <br />totaling $282.49. This is calculated as 13.25 unused compensatory time hours times his <br />hourly rate of $21.32. <br />In accordance with the LELS Local 204 Labor Agreement, Gregory Randolph is not eligible <br />for a sick time severance payout. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approving Resolution 8186 in accordance with Article 23.1 of the LELS <br />Local 204 Labor Agreement. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />4"JL (}Aa <br />Desaree Crane <br />
