Item 08C <br />December 9, 2013, City Council Meeting <br />Page 2 <br />Since Mr. Dazenski has been with the City since June 22, 1987, he qualifies for the increase <br />base cap to 1,280 hours. This is calculated as 20 hours times 16 years (base cap plus 20 <br />hours per year for each year employed beyond ten years). Mr. Dazenski also qualifies for the <br />enhanced sick leave payout, and has been contributing to his RHSP since 2008. <br />Resolution 8187 provides a payout of Mr. Dazenski's accrued/unused sick time. From 2008 <br />to present, Mr. Dazenski has contributed 794.25 sick hours to his RHSP. Due to the base <br />cap on sick hours contributed to the RHSP, Mr. Dazenski is authorized to contribute 485.75 <br />sick hours into his plan. Currently, Mr. Dazenski has 610.36 sick hours of accrued/unused <br />sick hours. In accordance with Section 3.45 of Mounds View Personnel Manual, Mr. <br />Dazenski is authorized a sick time payout totaling $9,876.27 to his Retirement Health <br />Savings Plan. This is calculated as 485.75 accrued/unused sick hours times 65% times his <br />hourly rate of $31.28. <br />Resolution 8187 provides a cash payout on Mr. Dazenski's vacation time. In accordance <br />with Section 3.47 of the Mounds View Personnel Manual, Mr. Dazenski's is authorized a <br />vacation time payout totaling $3,883.72. This calculated as 124.16 accrued/unused vacation <br />hours times his hourly rate of $31.28. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends approving Resolution 8187 in accordance with Sections 3.45 and 3.47 of <br />the Mounds View Personnel Manual <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Desaree Crane <br />
