CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Position Title: Maintenance Worker (Stormwater) <br />Department: Public Works — Operation & Maintenance Division <br />Accountable to: Director of Public Works <br />FSLA Status: Non -Exempt (Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit) <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br />To perform a wide variety of skilled and general maintenance work activities and functions including <br />operating, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing the infrastructure and equipment associated with the <br />municipal stormwater system, including storm sewer pipes, drain inlets, drainage structures, ditches, <br />culverts, wet and dry ponds, infiltration and bioretention swales and basins, and other structural <br />devices. This position will perform work tasks of other O&M subdivisions involving drinking water and <br />wastewater collection systems, streets and trails, parks and recreation facilities, buildings and <br />grounds, and fleet maintenance when assigned by the Public Works Supervisor, including <br />participating in the Standby Duty and Call Back programs for after-hours and weekend maintenance, <br />repairs, and emergencies. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />This position is supervised by and works under the general guidance and direction of the Public Works <br />Supervisor. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />No direct supervision is exercised by this position. May oversee the work of full-time and seasonal <br />maintenance workers on occasion when assigned by the Public Works Supervisor. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Clean and inspect storm sewer pipes, drain inlets, drainage structures, culverts, ditches, curbs and <br />gutters, and other infrastructure of the municipal stormwater conveyance system. <br />• Maintain and inspect retention and detention ponds, bioretention swales and basins, infiltration and <br />filtration facilities, sumps, grit chambers, and other infrastructure of the municipal stormwater rate <br />control and pollution control system. <br />• Operate and maintain inspection and maintenance equipment, including street sweeper, <br />jetting/vactor truck, pole camera, mainline sewer camera, computer, and other related equipment. <br />• Troubleshoot, correct, and repair stormwater system infrastructure, equipment, and tools to ensure <br />proper function and long-lasting performance. <br />• Participate in Best Management Practices (BMPs) related to the City's Stormwater Pollution <br />Prevention Program (SWPPP). <br />• Document and record inspections, maintenance, repairs, installations, and other work activities in <br />accordance with records retention schedules and program requirements. <br />• Assist and participate in other maintenance activities, including snow plowing and ice control, storm <br />debris clean up, building and grounds maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance, water <br />main breaks, etc. <br />Operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment related to a variety of City programs such as <br />street patching, snow plowing, excavating, and other tasks as delegated in a safe and proficient <br />manner. <br />Maintenance Worker (Stormwater) Position Description Page 1/4 <br />
