DRAFT POSITION DESCRIPTION • Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities and progress. Verify construction work and materials are compliant with contract documents and department standards. Record observations, site conditions, test results, field orders, and construction progress. • Assist the Public Works Director of Publir. Werks/Gity EnnineeF with internal projects tasks including preparing bid/quote documents, bid tabulations, and construction contracts; calculating estimated quantities and construction costs; answering contractor questions; and researching products. • Assist and participate in development of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). -- related pGrtiens ef private development PFOjeGtS tO ensuFe GE)rnpiianGe with depaptrn • Coordinate activities and attend meetings related to construction projects led by other government agencies affecting public works infrastructure, operations, and other interests. • Assist with GIS mapping and asset management as needed working with the Engineering GIS Technician. • Inspect storm sewer and surface water facilities and enter data using a computer-based program. • Assist in developing a storm sewer / surface water maintenance program and oversee said program. • Assist with meeting the requirements of the City's NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Permit and the City's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program. • Inspect private storm water ponds/basins and work with property owners to ensure proper operation and function of these structures. • Inspection of City owned storm water ponds/basins work with O&M staff for corrective action required. • Inspection of infiltrations basins located within the ROW, working with property owners to make sure they are functioning as designed. • Inspect other construction sites in the City for compliance of MS4 permit and storm water ordinances. • Assist with the RPZ inspection and reporting program for the city, working with property and business owners and city personnel to ensure compliance is meet.
