The Truth -in -taxation meeting was held <br />on December 4, 2017 and the public was provided an opportunity to comment. The City Council has <br />proposed a final levy increase of 4.3% for the General Fund and the police officer referendum increase of <br />1.86%. The Street Improvement levy of $300,000 has been discontinued and a debt service levy for the <br />Public Works facility will be initiated at $415,034. The overall increase is 8.87% for all levies. <br />The City Council may adopt the tax levy on December 11th or schedule an additional meeting if <br />necessary to adopt it no later than December 26, 2017. <br />Staff recommends that the City Council adopt resolution 8871 adopting the 2018 property tax levy. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Mark Beer <br />
