Mounds View City Council November 27, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br />1 Mayor Mueller stated on Tuesday, November 28th the 60th Anniversary Committee would be <br />2 meeting at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Those interested in helping with this event were encouraged to <br />3 attend. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Mueller reported she would be attending the Met Council/League of Minnesota Cities <br />6 meeting on Wednesday, November 29th at 10:30 a.m. The sessions planned for this event were <br />7 reviewed in further detail. <br />8 <br />9 Mayor Mueller noted she would be attending the Ramsey County League of Local Government <br />10 Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 30th where the key discussion would be provided by <br />11 David Schultz, who was a Political Science Professor at Hamline University. <br />12 <br />13 Council Member Gunn stated on December 5th, December 7th, December 12th and December 14th <br />14 sessions would be held for the New American Academy at Silver View Plaza. (loam to noon). <br />15 <br />16 B. Reports of Staff. <br />17 <br />18 Public Works Director Peterson provided the Council with a progress update on the Public <br />19 Works Facility. <br />20 <br />21 Public Works Director Peterson reported MnDOT was seeking approval from the City to have <br />22 the signal lights on County Road 10 to be synched or timed in a certain manner during the <br />23 MNPASS project. He provided further comment on how this project would impact the City. <br />24 <br />25 Mayor Mueller asked if the speed limit along County Road 10 would be changed by MnDOT. <br />26 Public Works Director Peterson stated MnDOT was not proposing to change the speed limit but <br />27 rather wanted to have the lights synchronized in order to keep traffic flowing through this area in <br />28 a more efficient manner. <br />29 <br />30 Council Member Bergeron stated he supported synchronization of these lights. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Mueller supported the light synchronization as well and hoped that this would improve <br />33 safety along the corridor. <br />34 <br />35 The Council offered their full support to synchronize the lights along County Road 10 <br />36 <br />37 Mayor Mueller asked when the Council could tour the Public Works Facility next. Public Works <br />38 Director Peterson suggested the tour be held on Monday, December 11th at 5:00 p.m. <br />39 <br />40 Finance Director Beer reported staff attended new website training today and staff would <br />41 continue to work to eliminate the bugs and errors on site. He explained staff was finishing up <br />42 online open enrollment and noted this went quite smoothly. <br />43 <br />44 Finance Director Beer reviewed the items that would be addressed by the Council at their <br />45 December 4th worksession and December 11th City Council meetings. <br />
