Mounds View City Council November 27, 2017 Regular Meeting Page 9 1 Mayor Mueller stated on Tuesday, November 28th the 60th Anniversary Committee would be 2 meeting at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Those interested in helping with this event were encouraged to 3 attend. 4 5 Mayor Mueller reported she would be attending the Met Council/League of Minnesota Cities 6 meeting on Wednesday, November 29th at 10:30 a.m. The sessions planned for this event were 7 reviewed in further detail. 8 9 Mayor Mueller noted she would be attending the Ramsey County League of Local Government 10 Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 30th where the key discussion would be provided by 11 David Schultz, who was a Political Science Professor at Hamline University. 12 13 Council Member Gunn stated on December 5th, December 7th, December 12th and December 14th 14 sessions would be held for the New American Academy at Silver View Plaza. (loam to noon). 15 16 B. Reports of Staff. 17 18 Public Works Director Peterson provided the Council with a progress update on the Public 19 Works Facility. 20 21 Public Works Director Peterson reported MnDOT was seeking approval from the City to have 22 the signal lights on County Road 10 to be synched or timed in a certain manner during the 23 MNPASS project. He provided further comment on how this project would impact the City. 24 25 Mayor Mueller asked if the speed limit along County Road 10 would be changed by MnDOT. 26 Public Works Director Peterson stated MnDOT was not proposing to change the speed limit but 27 rather wanted to have the lights synchronized in order to keep traffic flowing through this area in 28 a more efficient manner. 29 30 Council Member Bergeron stated he supported synchronization of these lights. 31 32 Mayor Mueller supported the light synchronization as well and hoped that this would improve 33 safety along the corridor. 34 35 The Council offered their full support to synchronize the lights along County Road 10 36 37 Mayor Mueller asked when the Council could tour the Public Works Facility next. Public Works 38 Director Peterson suggested the tour be held on Monday, December 11th at 5:00 p.m. 39 40 Finance Director Beer reported staff attended new website training today and staff would 41 continue to work to eliminate the bugs and errors on site. He explained staff was finishing up 42 online open enrollment and noted this went quite smoothly. 43 44 Finance Director Beer reviewed the items that would be addressed by the Council at their 45 December 4th worksession and December 11th City Council meetings.
