RESOLUTION 8891 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Approving Miscellaneous Purchases for the Public Works Facility <br />WHEREAS, during the design phase of the Public Works Facility (City Project No. <br />2017 -CO2) an allowance of $40,000 for furniture was included as part of the project; and, <br />WHEREAS, Staff has received quotes for these items from local vendors within <br />the City of Mounds View as well as the neighboring Cities; and, <br />WHEREAS, the following is a breakdown of the estimated costs for the items: <br />• $4,250 for kitchen appliances — refrigerators, microwave, dishwasher, <br />electric range, from Steve's Appliances. <br />• $7,750 for shelving, tire rack, work benches, television from Grainger, <br />Menards and Best Buy. <br />• $19,648 for office furniture and break room furniture from State Contractor <br />iSpace of Minneapolis; and, <br />WHEREAS, Public Works Staff also had a discussion with City Administrator <br />Zikmund in regards to moving all Public Works Staff to the new facility; and, <br />WHEREAS, moving all Public Works Staff to the new facility was discussed at the <br />January 2, 2018 Council Work Session with Council consensus to consolidate the <br />Department; and, <br />WHERAS, Staff has received a quote/ change order to build out three hard shell <br />offices from Ebert Construction for a cost of $ XXXXX <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />The City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of kitchen appliances — <br />refrigerators, microwave, dishwasher, electric range, from Steve's Appliances <br />of Mounds View MN for $4,250. <br />2. The City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of shelving, tire rack, work- <br />benches, television, from various vendors for $7,750. <br />3. The City Council hereby authorizes the purchase office furniture, break room <br />furniture for the new Public Works facility for a total not to exceed $19,648, and <br />directs Staff to purchase gently used furniture. <br />4. The City Council approves the change order from Ebert Construction to build <br />out three hard shell offices in the front office area of the Public Works Facility <br />for a cost of $ XXXX <br />
