RESOLUTION NO. 8898 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR UTILITY <br />VEHICLES, ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT, AND SETUP COSTS <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department maintains a replacement <br />schedule of police vehicles to ensure that the police department can provide reliable <br />quality service to the community with a dependable fleet of police vehicles, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department planned and budgeted <br />$84,600 for the replacement of two squad cars in 2018; and <br />WHEREAS, Hibbing Ford has been awarded the state bid contract for the 2018 <br />Ford Police Interceptor Police Utility vehicles at an approximate cost of $27,462 (each); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, one squad will need equipment consisting of a radar unit ($3,000), a <br />radio ($3,800), and in -squad camera ($5,500) for a total of $12,300; and <br />WHEREAS, the set-up costs for installing the new and transferring the existing <br />equipment will be approximately $14,000 for both vehicles. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View does hereby authorize the purchase of two 2018 Ford Police Interceptor <br />Utility vehicles at an approximate cost of $27,462 (each) from Hibbing Ford plus <br />additional equipment of $12,300 and setup costs of approximately $14,000 for a total <br />expense of $81,224, funded from Account 460-4200-7040. <br />Adopted this 22nd day of January 2018. <br />Carol A.
