RESOLUTION NO. 8905 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING JOE FLAHERTY AS THE MOUNDS VIEW COMMUNITY <br />REPRESENTATIVE ON THE SPRING LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT INC. BOARD OF <br />DIRECTORS <br />WHEREAS, The Spring Lake Park — Blaine — Mounds View Fire Department is a <br />Not -for -Profit Fire Corporation that provides protection and services to the City of <br />Mounds View; and <br />WHEREAS, the Corporation is managed by a Board of Directors that includes <br />five community representatives from the three cities and Mounds View nominated one <br />of those five; <br />WHEREAS, fire protection services are one of the core functions a city provides <br />and ensuring a well-managed and efficient fire service is critical to community; and <br />WHEREAS, Joe Flaherty, former Mayor and employed in a senior business <br />position in his private life brings a unique and valued combination of business operation <br />and public operation; and <br />WHEREAS, this experience and knowledge make him well suited to serve as a <br />board member representing Mounds View's interest; and <br />WHEREAS, Joe Flaherty has expressed enthusiasm and desire to serve his <br />community in this capacity, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />approves Resolution 8905 nominating Joe Flaherty as the Mounds View Representative <br />to the Spring Lake Park — Blaine — Mounds View Fire Department Board of Directors; <br />Adopted this 12th day of February, 2018. <br />Carol A.
