There are also many conditional uses in the industrial <br />zoning district, and possibly some could be changed to an allowed use. <br />Chair Stevenson explained that industrial uses typically have limited visitor parking available so <br />that should be a consideration when adding more allowed uses. <br />Associate Heller commented that parking for this business was not an issue, and typically isn't <br />an issue for industrial uses due to the large size of the properties. <br />Commissioner Carvelli-Yu asked if the medical/pharmacy use could be grandfathered in. She <br />wanted to see the City support its local businesses. <br />Associate Heller said this was not possible. The additional uses either need to be added to the <br />zoning code or the business would be informed it was not in compliance. <br />Commissioner Carvelli-Yu recommended the City be accommodating to this business as it had <br />been in the community for the past 20 years. She did not believe that additional retail would <br />move into this area of the city given its location. She explained that the City's vision was to be a <br />medical industry hub and this business aligned with this vision. <br />Commissioner Birken suggested the current businesses be made permitted uses within the I-1 <br />Zoning District. <br />permitted uses in the I-1 Industrial Zoning District. <br />Associate Heller reviewed a list of suggested <br />Associate Heller indicated she would add language to the code that would allow for medical <br />supply, a stand-alone pharmacy and office as allowed uses. She anticipated the Commission could review the <br />code amendment at their December 3`d meeting. <br />Commissioner Love discussed a reference to the City Forester in Chapter 1114.04 Subd. 1 and <br />recommended this language be revised since the city no longer has a forester. <br />7.
