STACKISTACKING: Means a method of storing cargo containers or a chassis in a <br />vertical manner where the floor of the container or bed of the chassis remains <br />parallel to the ground. <br />TEMPORARY: Means a period of time that does not exceed four (4) months on site <br />while being used for storage purposes. <br />154,090,2 Permitted Locations <br />(a) Except as provided in § 154.090.4, cargo containers may not be placed, stored <br />or used on property zoned for residential use. <br />(b) Cargo containers may be placed, stored or used for temporary storage on <br />property zoned for neighborhood or general business, provided the business has <br />obtained a temporary storage permit from the Zoning Administrator. Cargo <br />containers may not be placed, stored or used on a permanent basis on any <br />property zoned for neighborhood or general business. <br />(c) Cargo containers may be placed, stored or used on property zoned for general <br />service or industrial for permanent storage, provided the placement, condition <br />and use of the cargo container complies with the provisions of § 154.090.3. <br />154.090.3 Standards and Regulations <br />(a) Cargo containers shall not be stacked on one another. <br />(b) Cargo containers shall not be used for living quarters and shall not be provided <br />with refrigeration, heating, electricity, or plumbing. <br />(c) Cargo containers used for permanent storage must be placed on an asphalt or <br />concrete surface and secured thereto. <br />(d) Cargo containers used for temporary storage must be placed to the rear of the <br />business and may not be placed within any designated landscape or flood <br />retention or detention areas. <br />(d) No cargo containers may be placed, stored or used on property or any area that <br />Is within the flood plain or flood way. <br />154.090.4 Exemptions <br />(a) Contractors licensed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors may use cargo <br />containers in any zoning district for the storage of equipment and materials during <br />the period of construction at the construction site subject to the following: <br />(i) The construction must be property permitted by the city; <br />(ii) The container shall be removed from the property no later than seven (7) <br />calendar days after the final Inspection and approval of the construction by <br />the city. <br />2 <br />
