Mounds View City Council December 12, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Meehlhause suggested the Council/Staff retreat be held in June. He believed 2 <br />the delay would allow for the entire Council to express their priorities. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Council Member Mueller questioned how staff felt about holding the Town Hall meeting in the 5 <br />fall versus the spring. City Administrator Ericson feared attendance would be down if the 6 <br />meeting was held in the fall. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Flaherty stated he appreciated holding the Town Hall meeting in the spring of every year. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Council Member Mueller proposed the Council hold the retreat on February 21st, as planned, 11 <br />with the understanding all City Council candidates would be invited to attend the session. The 12 <br />Town Hall meeting would then be held on Monday, March 20th. She recommended another 13 <br />Council/Staff retreat be held in the fall in order to assist in bringing the group together. 14 <br /> 15 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8683, 16 <br />Setting the 2017 City Council Meeting Dates, Council/Staff Retreat (February 21) and Town Hall 17 <br />Meeting (March 20) and Times. 18 <br /> 19 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Meehlhause requested the Council reconsider action on this item due to the fact 22 <br />City Administrator Ericson would not be available to attend the Council/Staff retreat on February 23 <br />21st. 24 <br /> 25 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Mueller. To Recommend the City Council Reconsider 26 <br />Resolution 8683. 27 <br /> 28 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Meehlhause suggested the Council consider holding the Council/Staff retreat 31 <br />on either February 7th or February 14th. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Mueller stated she would not be available on February 7th. She asked if the 34 <br />Council could meet late in January. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council Member Hull suggested the Council hold the retreat on January 30th. 37 <br /> 38 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause.
