RESOLUTION NO. 8517 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING THE HIRE OF SCOTT VANDERVEGT TO THE POSITION OF <br />PUBLIC WORKS MECHANIC <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council, the Mechanic position <br />was advertised; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, fourteen (14) applications were received for the position and nine (9) were <br />chosen for interview; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Scott VanderVegt’s skills and experience were determined to most closely <br />match the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the job description; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. VanderVegt would start at Level A of the Pay Scale at $27.72/hour in <br />accordance with the Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, hiring Mr. VanderVegt would be contingent on satisfactory reference checks, <br />satisfactory criminal background checks, satisfactory drug test and satisfactory pre-employment <br />exam; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. VanderVegt would begin employment on or about February 29, 2016. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council appoints <br />Scott VanderVegt to the position of Mechanic in the Public Works Department, contingent <br />satisfactory reference checks, satisfactory criminal background checks, satisfactory drug test, <br />and satisfactory pre-employment exam, with employment to commence on or about February <br />29, 2016. <br /> <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve the hire of Scott <br />VanderVegt to the full-time, non-exempt, union position of Mechanic at Level A of the pay scale <br />(currently $24.72/hour) in accordance with the Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement. . <br /> <br /> <br /> Adopted this 8th day of February, 2016. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> <br />(SEAL)
