Mounds View City Council December 14, 2015 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />and Committees. 1 <br /> 2 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane explained the City’s Commissions and Committees have 3 <br />seats that were set to expire as of December 31st. She indicated the City advertised for these 4 <br />positions and received applications of interest. She recommended Steven Katovich, John 5 <br />Kroeger and Gary Rundle be reappointed to the Parks and Forestry Commission. In addition, she 6 <br />requested Jason French, Angelica Klebsch and Paul Schiltgen be appointed to the Planning 7 <br />Commission and lastly that Paul Schiltgen be appointed to the Streets and Utilities Commission. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if Dan Larson reapplied for the Streets and Utilities 10 <br />Commission. Assistant City Administrator Crane reported he did not. Finance Director Beer 11 <br />indicated this Commission was nearing the end of its tenure. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Angelica Klebsch and Jason French for coming forward to serve the 14 <br />City. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned if Terry Broos was willing to continue serving on the Police Civil 17 <br />Service Commission. Police Chief Kinney indicated Mr. Broos would like to step down from his 18 <br />position. He then reviewed the requirements for individuals interested in serving on the Police 19 <br />Civil Service Commission and requested those interested in serving with this group to contact 20 <br />City Hall. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Mayor Flaherty inquired if the Street and Utilities Commission would dissolve after the street 23 <br />projects were completed. City Administrator Ericson indicated this was his understanding. 24 <br /> 25 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8492, 26 <br />Approving Various Appointments to the City Commissions and Committees. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked Angelica Klebsch and Jason French for being willing to 29 <br />serve on the Planning Commission. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Council Member Mueller agreed and looked forward to working with Ms. Klebsch and Mr. 32 <br />French. 33 <br /> 34 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 35 <br /> 36 <br />E. Resolution 8490, Approving to Purchase Two In-Car Video Camera 37 <br />Recording Systems. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Police Chief Kinney requested the Council approve the purchase of two in-car video camera 40 <br />recording systems. He explained these systems were valuable to the department and greatly 41 <br />enhanced officer safety. He indicated the new systems would allow for wireless data transfer, 42 <br />which would be more timely for the officers. He indicated he had $10,000 budgeted for the 43 <br />camera purchase. 44 <br /> 45
