Mounds View City Council February 8, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 8 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />11. REPORTS 2 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported Northeast Youth and Family Services would be holding 5 <br />their Service to Youth Awards on Thursday, February 11th. He reviewed the 2016 award 6 <br />winners. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated he would be attending an NYFS executive board meeting 9 <br />on Friday, February 12th. In addition, he would be attending a personnel committee meeting for 10 <br />NYFS on Wednesday, February 17th. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Council Member Meehlhause congratulated Irondale Nordic Ski Coach Chris Torvi’s daughter 13 <br />Hannah Torvi for winning the Section 4 Championship. He wished her well at State. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Acting Mayor Mueller indicated the February 18th League of Minnesota Cities Board of Directors 16 <br />meeting has been canceled. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Acting Mayor Mueller stated the Ramsey County League of Local Government was having its 19 <br />annual conversation with Ramsey County legislators on Thursday, February 25th. Residents were 20 <br />encouraged to forward their questions or comments to her. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Acting Mayor Mueller reported the Festival in the Park Committee would meet next on March, 23 <br />15th at City Hall. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 26 <br /> 27 <br />City Administrator Ericson reported the City participated in the North Metro Home and Garden 28 <br />Show at the National Sports Center. He indicated the event was very well attended and had a 29 <br />large number of vendors present. He thanked Council Member Meehlhause and Craig Swalchick 30 <br />for attending the event on behalf of the City. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Finance Director Beer updated the Council on the North Suburban Cable Commission. He 33 <br />reported the Comcast franchise has had an administrative hearing with a law judge. This judge 34 <br />ruled in favor of NSCC on all four issues being raised by Comcast. He anticipated additional 35 <br />conversations will continue regarding the franchise, but was pleased that progress was being 36 <br />made. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Acting Mayor Mueller was pleased that Mounds View residents would now have the option of 39 <br />selecting CenturyLink as their cable provider. Further discussion ensued regarding the PRISM 40 <br />services that would be offered through CenturyLink, along with the line certification process that 41 <br />would have to be followed by CenturyLink. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Public Works Director Erickson updated the Council on the Silver View Park Trail.
