RESOLUTION NO. 8557 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING AN ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BRAUN INTERTEC FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING AND SPECIAL INSPECTION SERVICES <br />RELATED TO THE STREET & UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM – AREA I <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 8437 on March 28, 2016 awarding the <br />construction contract for the SUIP – Area I, (2016-C01), “the Project” to Douglas Kerr <br />Underground; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, construction materials testing is necessary to insure the Project is properly <br />constructed; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Braun Intertec has provided a proposal for providing construction materials <br />testing and special inspection services for an estimated cost of $41,553; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Braun Intertec’s proposal is reasonable and sufficient. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota that: <br /> <br />1. Braun Intertec is authorized to provide construction materials testing and special <br />inspection services for the construction phase of the Project with an estimated maximum <br />fee of $41,553. <br /> <br />2. The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized to execute all appropriate documents <br />and enter into a professional services agreement, for and on behalf of the City, with Braun <br />Intertec to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution. <br /> <br />3. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to additional testing <br />services up to $4,150 (10%) on behalf of the City Council. <br /> <br />4. The Mayor and City Administrator, staff and consultants are hereby authorized and <br />directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order <br />to accomplish the intent of this Resolution. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted this 25th day of April 2016 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br />(SEAL)
