RESOLUTION NO. 8560 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT OF KATHRYN ANN SMITH <br />TO THE POLICE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 404 of the Mounds View City Municipal Code established the <br />Mounds View Police Civil Service Commission; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 404.01 of the above mentioned Chapter sets the method for <br />the appointment of the Police Civil Service Commissioners; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 404.01 states that Police Commissioners shall be appointed by <br />the Mayor with the approval of a majority of the Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there are two (2) vacant seats on the Police Civil Service Commission; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Staff and the Mounds View City Council have reviewed the current <br />application on file at the Mounds View City offices for this appointment, and has <br />recommended for its approval of Kathryn Ann Smith for appointment to the Mounds View <br />Police Civil Service Commission. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a majority of the Mounds View City <br />Council does hereby approve Kathryn Ann Smith to Police Civil Service Commission, <br />effective June 1, 2016, with a term expiration of December 31, 2016. <br /> <br /> Adopted this 25th day of April, 2016. <br /> <br /> <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> <br />(seal) <br />
