Mounds View City Council May 23, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br />the signs would be replaced in 2018 at the earliest. Staff recommended the Council introduce 1 <br />Ordinance 918. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mayor Flaherty stated this issue has been discussed by the Council for years. He thanked 4 <br />Council Member Meehlhause for his efforts on this matter. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Council Member Mueller thanked Council Member Meehlhause and staff for continuing to work 7 <br />on this issue. 8 <br /> 9 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Waive the First Reading and Introducing 10 <br />Ordinance 918, an Ordinance Naming that Section of County Road 10 in the City of Mounds 11 <br />View to “Mounds View Boulevard”. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Mueller requested the map be posted on the City’s website so business owners 14 <br />and residents can see what portion of County Road 10 would be renamed. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 17 <br /> 18 <br />J. Resolution 8581, Dissolution of the Street and Utilities Commission. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Public Works Director Erickson requested the Council consider the dissolution of the Street and 21 <br />Utilities Commission. He explained the work of this group has come to an end as Area I of the 22 <br />project was underway. He thanked the members of the Streets and Utilities Commission for their 23 <br />service to the community. Staff then recommended the Council approve a Resolution dissolving 24 <br />the Streets and Utilities Commission. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Council Member Mueller asked if the members of the Streets and Utilities Commission would be 27 <br />formally recognized for their service to the City. Public Works Director Erickson reported all 28 <br />current members would be recognized. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Mueller reported the City was seeking volunteers for the Charter Commission 31 <br />in the event any of these individuals would like to continue serving the community. 32 <br /> 33 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8581, 34 <br />Dissolution of the Street and Utilities Commission. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked all of the individuals that served on the Street and Utilities 37 <br />Commission over the years. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Council Member Gunn also appreciated the members of this Commission and believed they had 40 <br />done the City proud. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked former Mayor Marty for his forethought and for getting this 43 <br />accomplished on behalf of the City. 44 <br /> 45
