Mounds View City Council May 23, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 10 <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 1 <br /> 2 <br />K. Resolution 8583, Approving the Uniform State Wide Contract for 3 <br />Cogeneration and Small Power Production Facilities as part of the Energy 4 <br />Savings Partnership (ESP) program for the Community Center and City 5 <br />Hall. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson requested the Council approve the uniform State wide 8 <br />contractor for cogeneration and small power production facilities as part of the Energy Savings 9 <br />Partnership (ESP) program for the Community Center and City Hall. He explained this contract 10 <br />would allow the City to hook up its solar panels to Xcel Energy’s power grid. Staff discussed the 11 <br />contract rates in further detail with the Council and recommended approval. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Mueller requested a minor change to the language on the Resolution 14 <br />eliminating the first “further”. She asked how the liability insurance coverage amount was 15 <br />determined. Public Works Supervisor Peterson indicated this amount was determined by Xcel 16 <br />Energy. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Mayor Flaherty requested further information on how the solar panels will work. Public Works 19 <br />Supervisor Peterson described how the solar panels will turn sunlight into energy for the 20 <br />Community Center and City Hall. It was noted the energy would either be used by the City or be 21 <br />pushed back out into the grid. 22 <br /> 23 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8583, 24 <br />Approving the Uniform State Wide Contract for Cogeneration and Small Power Production 25 <br />Facilities as part of the Energy Savings Partnership (ESP) program for the Community Center 26 <br />and City Hall. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked Public Works Supervisor Peterson for all of his efforts on 29 <br />this project. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 32 <br /> 33 <br />8. CONSENT AGENDA 34 <br />A. Set a Public Hearing for Monday, June 13, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., to Consider 35 <br />the Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 918, an Ordinance naming 36 <br />that Section of County Road 10 in the City of Mounds View to “Mounds 37 <br />View Boulevard”. 38 <br />B. Set a Public Hearing for Monday, June 13, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., to Consider a 39 <br />Residential Kennel License for Meridith Grosse located at 7985 Fairchild 40 <br />Avenue. 41 <br /> 42 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Approve the Consent Agenda as presented. 43 <br /> 44 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 45
