Mounds View City Council May 23, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 12 <br /> <br />C. May 9, 2016, City Council Meeting Minutes. 1 <br /> 2 <br />Council Member Meehlhause requested a correction on Page 8, Line 16 placing a “w” at the end 3 <br />of Mounds View. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Council Member Meehlhause requested a correction on Page 8, Line 32 changing park to parks. 6 <br /> 7 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Approve the May 9, 2016, City Council meeting 8 <br />minutes as corrected. 9 <br /> 10 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 11 <br /> 12 <br />11. REPORTS 13 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Mueller stated the next Festival in the Park Committee meeting would be held 16 <br />on Tuesday, June 21st at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. She encouraged those interested in volunteering 17 <br />to attend this meeting. She provided further comment on the events planned for this year’s 18 <br />Festival. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Council Member Mueller reported the League of Minnesota Cities Board approved a 3% increase 21 <br />in member dues for 2017. This information was passed along to the Finance Director to assist 22 <br />the City in budgeting accordingly. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Council Member Mueller commented the State Legislature wrapped up their session on Sunday, 25 <br />May 22 nd. She was pleased that the State had taken action on body cameras. She provided 26 <br />further comment the State legislation regarding granny pods. She was disappointed that the 27 <br />legislature could not come together to pass a transportation bill. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Meehlhause discussed the Twin Cities Gateway board meeting he attended last 30 <br />week. He explained the Gateway continues to be in great financial standing. He reviewed the 31 <br />hotel revenues that had been collected in 2016. He commented Twin Cities Gateway was 32 <br />looking to hire an additional staff member to assist with promoting the gateway for sporting 33 <br />events. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Council Member Meehlhause explained the United States Postal Service would be unveiling a 36 <br />stamp that honors Halloween at the Anoka City Hall on Thursday, September 29th. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Meehlhause stated he would be joining Public Works Director Erickson and 39 <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson in touring the Little Canada, White Bear Lake and Vadnais 40 <br />Heights Public Works facilities. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending an NYFS board meeting on 43 <br />Thursday. 44 <br /> 45
