Population growth. <br /> It was decided that the appropriate strategy for resolution of all of the above <br /> is continued discussion of, and commitment to, achieving an appropriate <br /> balance relative to each of the items identified above when establishing a <br /> long-term vision for the community and goals/strategies for the achievement <br /> of that vision. <br /> 4. Critical/strategic issues that must be addressed from a leadership perspective <br /> to position Mounds View for achieving its vision for 2020. The following <br /> critical/strategic issues were identified: <br /> a. Ability of citizens to pay taxes and generate needed revenues for the <br /> future. <br /> b. Quality of housing stock and how to afford and maintain the housing <br /> stock. <br /> c. Quality of the City's infrastructure. <br /> d. Dealing with population increases, multiple dwelling units, and <br /> mobile homes. <br /> e. Maximizing business corridor potential. <br /> f. Being proactive,rather than reactive,and becoming more progressive <br /> in long-term planning for the City. <br /> g. Transportation planning. <br /> h. Planning for increased leisure time activities such as trails,parks,golf <br /> courses, swimming facilities, etc. <br /> i. Determining appropriate social services levels that might be required <br /> for the future to meet changing citizen needs/expectations. <br /> • <br /> 18 <br />
