would go a long way to satisfying people's anger over airport noise. We will be meeting again
next month. For next week, I will be meeting again with the neighboring city administrators and
MAC to deliberate over a local and/or regional sound abatement committee. I will be stressing
the regional based committee in as much to bring maximum exposure to this effort. I will also
stress a fiscal commitment by MAC to the committee and place expectations that they will
commit to establishing relationships with residents directly, not just the city representatives. We
will see how this goes.
Bob Long is currently working on trying to wrap up the Everest terms. We will report directly to
each member once we know where things are coming down.
• I will also be talking with Wendell Smith to try to coordinate traffic management planning for
the theater opening. We have been informed that MNDOT has approved the project plans and
MSA funding and everyone should expect to see work starting almost immediately. I am not
clear as to the exact opening date of the theater but it should be after the Highway 10 access has
been established.
Carl and Kitty have been interviewing for Tracy's old position. We appear to have some good
candidates to fill the position. Also, Brimeyer has narrowed down the chief candidates and will
be presenting them to the Civil Service Commission next week.
I will be out of the office on Friday but will be checking in if you need to get ahold of me.
Otherwise, see you on Monday.
