Mounds View Community Center. This is great public relations and some of the
best marketing we can do.
FACILITY COORDINATION
Of course, someone has to coordinate all of these activities at the banquet facility
in order for everything to run smoothly. This is not something that you can get a
volunteer for or have several people doing. It takes experience and
organizational skills as well as excellent customer service techniques to make
this variety of clients happy.
My goal is to continue to actively market the banquet facility and provide
excellent service to our clients through customized planning and coordination of
each event. Through the cooperative efforts of my staff, myself and the staff of
Elegant Thymes Catering, we are building an excellent reputation in the
community that will lead to the continued growth of our client base.
FACILITY MAINTENANCE
Like any new facility, the Community Center has had many "bugs" to work out.
Everything from temperature control issues, to thumping in the ductwork, to faulty
locks and many other general maintenance needs. Steve Dazenski, the Parks
Maintenance Foreman, has provided us with great service in this area. We are
fortunate to have someone who takes great pride in the facility and his work.
This work ethic is apparent in not only Steve's work but also that of the other
public works staff.
SUMMATION
The information presented in this memo is just an overview of the activities in the
Banquet Facility. The schedule changes daily as more people hear about our
beautiful facility. I continue to add amenities using creativity because, of course,
funding is limited. For example, we were able to purchase risers from Chippewa
Middle School for $60.00 each. These would normally cost $400.00 each if
purchased new.
I will be providing updates from time to time regarding the activities, but if Council
Members have any questions regarding the banquet facility or its operations,
please don't hesitate to give me a call. I can be reached by leaving a voice
message at 717-4041 until our phone system is installed at the community center
or you may call me at my home office at 786-4696.
