Accepting the minutes as amended. <br /> Ayes - 4. Nays-0. <br /> 4. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS LI <br /> A. Mayor Coughlin gives a plaque for appreciation from the I-35W Corridor Coalition to <br /> former Mayor Duane McCarty. <br /> B. Review of the City Council and staff retreat. Mayor Coughlin stated that two days were <br /> spent on the retreat, March 12, and 13. 10 rules of Council/staff interaction were <br /> established: <br /> 1. Respect one another and no abuse. <br /> 2. Follow the golden rule. <br /> 3. Appreciate the value of each team member. <br /> 4. Communicating the why's. <br /> 5. Accepting our limitations and learning from our failures. <br /> 6. Realistic expectations of everyone and to have patience. <br /> 7. Follow the chain the command. <br /> 8. Identifify and prioritize issues and clearly state directions and goals. <br /> 9. Tell the painful truth. <br /> 10. Keep your sense of humor and find some enjoyment in this job <br /> Signing this resolution shows commitment to these rules, and a desire to hold each other <br /> accountable to these rules. <br /> 5. REPORTS <br /> Council Member Marty reported on the retreat. Mr. Marty reported tense times, and somewhat <br /> uncomfortable times, but by the time the seminar was over things were working well.
