Be available for special requests and to <br /> respond to calls, as needed. <br /> • Be accessible and available without the need to be high profile. <br /> • Ability to operate within a fiscally conservative environment. <br /> • Be inclusive of Department personnel in the decision making process. <br /> • Set high standards of professionalism in the enforcement of policies and procedures. <br /> • Work closely with other City departments. <br /> • Have a strong philosophical orientation toward community based programs. <br /> POSITION PRIORITIES <br /> • Implement the upgrade of equipment used for investigations and transcription <br /> equipment. <br /> • Examine the need for additional police vehicles. <br /> • Implement additional training for personnel and develop career path programs. <br /> • Evaluate current technology capacity and the need to improve hardware and software <br /> capabilities. <br /> • Examine feasibility of utilizing more civilian personnel to perform certain functions. <br /> • Work closely with community organizations such as the Property Owners Coalition <br /> and Neighborhood Watch, etc. <br /> • Analyze the current policies and procedures and make changes as appropriate. <br /> • Examine potential partnerships and service delivery options with other police <br /> agencies. <br />
