If the City <br /> Council concurs with the provisions contained in this letter, please arrange to have it signed in <br /> the spaces provided and return a signed copy to me. <br /> 1. The City appoints the Firm as City Attorney with Robert C. Long acting as primary legal <br /> counsel with respect to the services described in this letter. <br /> 2. The Firm agrees to perform all usual and customary legal services for the City in <br /> accordance with the terms of this letter. <br /> 3. The City agrees to compensate the Firm for services as follows: <br /> a) An annual retainer fee for the City's general civil legal services of$36,000 (based <br /> on a regular hourly rate of $100 per hour) payable in monthly installments of <br /> $3,000 per month, by the end of each month, commencing for services rendered <br /> during the twelve month period beginning January 1, 1997. Services to be <br /> covered by the retainer fee are as follows: <br /> 1) Attendance at regular City Council meetings during the twelve month <br /> retainer period to be determined by the City Clerk-Administrator; <br /> 2) Formal and informal legal advice to City staff and elected officials as <br /> requested; <br /> 3) Preparation of Ordinances and Resolutions as requested; <br /> RCL114982 <br /> M0125-11 <br />
