Item No. <br /> Type of Business: WK <br /> WK: Work Session;PH: Public Hearing; <br /> CA:Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> To: Mayor and City Council <br /> From: Cari Schmidt <br /> Item Title/Subject: Building Inspection Contract <br /> Date of Report: February 12, 1999 <br /> Attached is a draft copy of the proposed building inspections contract with the Spring <br /> Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department for your discussion. <br /> Payment for the services provided by the Fire Department to the City shall be as follows: <br /> (a) The City will pay Fire Department a maximum of$40,000 per year, $5000 of <br /> which is due by January 1 of each contract year. The remainder will be billed throughout <br /> the year as work is performed. This cost is based on historical numbers of plan reviews <br /> and inspections. <br /> (b) The annual cost to the City for such services shall not exceed $40,000 unless the <br /> activity increased by more than a 10%margin, at which time the Fire Dept. Could <br /> renegotiate a compensation package. <br /> (c) Payment for services shall be made upon the presentation of billing statements to <br /> the Municipality. The Municipality shall make payment to the Fire Department within <br /> thirty (30) days of its receipt of the billing statement or make reasonable arrangements for <br /> payment acceptable to the Fire Department. <br /> A copy of this contract has been submitted to the City Attorney for approval, as well as the Fire <br /> Department's attorney.
