contemplating the issuance of a conditional use permit for an over-sized garage <br /> at 8059 Red Oak Drive. <br /> Mayor Coughlin opened the Public Hearing at 7:33 p.m. <br /> Planning Associate Ericson stated that the applicants, Allen and Joy Dick were requesting a <br /> conditional use permit for an oversized garage at 8059 Red Oak Drive which is located north of <br /> Highway 10, between Hillview and Sherwood Roads. He stated that staff had inspected the <br /> property, and that all of the dimensional requirements would be met with the proposal. He stated <br /> that the property is well shielded from the neighboring properties,the property to the rear, and from <br /> the street. He stated that the addition would be located to the rear of the garage, and would not make <br /> a noticeable impact to the property <br /> Ericson stated that the Planning Commission heard this request at its meeting on July 21, 1999 and <br /> after some discussion concerning the request,unanimously approved Resolution 588-99,a resolution <br /> recommending City Council approval of the conditional use permit with stipulations. The <br /> stipulations indicate that the conditional use permit will be recorded with Ramsey County,the garage <br /> will not be used for living space, or for other uses not allowed in the district, the garage shall be <br /> designed and maintained to provide a uniform appearance with the house, and all vehicles parked <br /> at the property shall be either parked on the driveway, improved surface of the lot, or in the garage. <br /> He stated the existing shed on the lot would be moved to maintain a minimum six-foot setback from <br /> the lot, and a five-foot setback from the property line. <br /> The applicant was present. <br /> Mayor Coughlin closed the Public Hearing at 7:35 p.m. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Stigney. To Approve Resolution No. 5348, a Resolution Approving a <br /> Conditional Use Permit for an Oversized Garage at 8059 Red Oak Drive; Mounds View Planning <br /> Case No. 552-99,with stipulations. <br /> Ayes—4 Nays—0 Motion carried. <br /> B. Public Hearing and Consideration of Resolution 5349, a resolution <br /> contemplating the issuance of a conditional use permit for Thrifty Car Rental, <br /> to be located at 2975 Highway 10. <br /> Mayor Coughlin opened the Public Hearing at 7:35 p.m. <br /> Planning Associate Ericson stated that the applicant, Thrifty Car Rental, is seeking a conditional <br /> use permit to operate an auto rental business at the property most recently utilized by Spots Quik <br /> Lube, located at 2975 Highway 10. He stated that the applicant plans on expanding the parking <br /> lot to accommodate extra vehicles, and with the expanded site plan, the lot could accommodate <br /> up to 23 vehicles.
