be amended, altered, enlarged, supplemented, abridged, modified, extended or waived except in <br /> writing duly signed by all the parties hereto. <br /> 13.2 This Agreement may be modified, extended or amended only with the written <br /> approval.of the Fire Department and the Municipality. <br /> 13.3 This Agreement shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the parties. Except <br /> as otherwise contemplated by Article X hereof, no assignment or attempted assignment of this <br /> Agreement or any rights hereunder shall be effective unless consented to in writing by the parties. <br /> Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing contained in this Subsection 13.3 shall preclude the Fire <br /> Department from retaining independent contractors or other personnel to perform services on its <br /> behalf under this Agreement. <br /> 13.4 In the event that any one or more provisions of this Agreement or any application <br /> thereof, shall be found to be invalid, illegal or otherwise unenforceable, the validity, legality and <br /> enforceability of the remaining provisions in any application therefor shall not in any way be <br /> affected or impaired thereby. <br /> ARTICLE XIV.
