If the City Council concurs <br /> with the provisions contained in this letter, please arrange to have it signed in the spaces provided <br /> and return a signed copy to me. <br /> 1. The City appoints the Firm as City Attorney with Robert C. Long acting as primary legal <br /> counsel with respect to the services described in this letter. Scott J. Riggs will serve as <br /> primary Assistant City Attorney. <br /> 2. The Firm agrees to perform all usual and customary legal services for the City in <br /> accordance with the terms of this letter. <br /> 3. The City agrees to compensate the Firm for services as follows: <br /> a) An annual retainer fee for the City's general civil legal services of$36,000 (based on <br /> a regular hourly rate of$105 per hour) payable in monthly installments of$3,000 <br /> per month, by the end of each month, commencing for services rendered during the <br /> twelve month period beginning January 1, 2000. Services to be covered by the <br /> retainer fee are as follows: <br /> 1) Attendance at regular City Council meetings during the twelve month <br /> retainer period to be determined by the City Clerk-Administrator; <br /> 2) Formal and informal legal advice to City staff and elected officials as <br /> requested; <br /> RCL-170255 <br /> MU125-11 <br />
