UNAPPROVED <br /> Mounds View City Council <br /> December 14, 1998 <br /> Page 9 <br /> behalf of the City. <br /> Kessel reviewed the staff report dated December 11, 1998. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Koopmeiners/Quick to authorize staff to select a vendor to provide <br /> vending machine services at the Community Center and for the Mayor and Clerk Administrator <br /> to execute a contract on behalf of the City. <br /> VOTE: Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 The motion carried. <br /> I. Consider Authorizing City Attorney and Clerk Administrator to finalize negotiations of <br /> the catering and food service agreement and authorize the Mayor and Clerk Administrator <br /> to execute finalized agreement. (Draft agreement attached.) <br /> At a Council Work Session staff had been directed to give the Council some idea of what other <br /> communities are paying for their catering services. Some cities do not have exclusive services. <br /> Several have a "kitchen fee" rather than a "percentage fee" which is around$75 Kessel said. The <br /> City of Maplewood offers a percentage guarantee for the cater. Kessel recommended against this <br /> approach until operation of the facility has stabilized. <br /> Kessel said an amendment had been added to the "exclusivity agreement" that seniors could have <br /> food in their area that was not catered in. Also, if events were going on in the gymnasium their <br /> food would not have to be catered in. This agreement also extended to people that were just <br /> serving desserts. <br /> Sherry Linke said the Community Center does not anticipate having groups of less than 100 <br /> people. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Mayor McCarty/Quick to Authorize the City Attorney and Clerk <br /> Administrator to finalize negotiations of the catering and food service agreement subject to final <br /> approval by the Council and authorize the Mayor and Clerk Administrator to execute the interim <br /> agreement. <br /> VOTE: Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 The motion carried <br /> Mayor McCarty called a five minute recess at 8:55 p.m. <br /> Mayor McCarty reconvened the meeting at 9:00 p.m. <br /> J. Public Hearing and Consideration of Resolution No. 5286, Approving a Preliminary Plat <br />
