Demonstrated ability to <br /> effectively and efficiently operate jet truck for clearing sewers and cutting roots <br /> and inspection unit. Attendance of combined space and competent person <br /> seminar. Ability to formulate preliminary division budget and maintain budgetary <br /> expenditures. <br /> • Multiple Areas - Employees who meet the requirements for Level C classification <br /> in 3 or more areas; and must be normally assigned to these areas on a regular <br /> basis; irrespective of standby duty. Employees achieving Level D classification <br /> for skill in multiple areas must make substantial effort on an annual basis to <br /> receive the training and achieve required licensing for Level D in the area to <br /> which they are primarily assigned. <br /> • For Level C employees, the following areas must be satisfactory on the most <br /> recent performance review in order to be classified as Level D. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to lead a work crew. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to assist in scheduling other employees, materials, <br /> equipment and activities. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to assist in training of other employees. <br /> • Working knowledge of operations in all departments. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to assume supervisory duties in the absence of the Public <br /> Works Supervisor. <br /> • Demonstrated ability to respond to and resolve complaints effectively. <br /> ARTICLE 23. SEVERANCE <br /> 23.1 Severance pay shall be granted in the amount of fifty percent(50%) of the maximum <br /> accrual of one hundred and twenty (120) days of unused sick leave to employees who <br /> have completed ten years of service. Upon death of the employee, the beneficiary of the <br /> employee shall be paid the benefit. <br /> 23.2 Employees who have completed ten years of service and retire may elect, in lieu of <br /> severance pay as provided in Section 23.1,to have the employer use sixty five percent <br /> (65%) of the employee's accumulated and banked sick leave for the retiree's group <br /> insurance premium for as long as the funds are available up to the retiree's 65th birthday. <br /> ARTICLE 24. WAGES. <br /> 24.1 The following wage schedule will be in effect from the first payroll period in 1999 <br /> through the last payroll period in 2000. <br /> 12 <br />
