SYSCO Foods Expansion <br /> Planning Case 532-98 <br /> August 20, 1998 <br /> Page 3 <br /> where it intersects with County Road J, but narrows to only 25 feet along the east side of the <br /> property. <br /> Other Issues: <br /> • Landscaping: The applicant does not intend to provide any landscaping with this project, <br /> other than the landscaping that will be displaced as a result of the proposed expansion, <br /> which will be relocated and/or replaced. <br /> • Public Safety: While not a component of this project, the intersection at Xylite Street and <br /> County Road J (with the SYSCO access being the fourth leg of the intersection) will be <br /> improved with a full-movement traffic signal. The City of Mounds View and Sysco are <br /> sharing in the cost of this improvement with the City of Blaine. <br /> • Utilities: The expansion areas will not generate a need for any additional utilities. <br /> Planning Commission Action: <br /> The Planning Commission, at its meeting on August 19, 1998, voted to approve Resolution 555- <br /> 98, a resolution recommending to the City Council approval of the development review requested <br /> by SYSCO. The issue of whether or not the site plans should be revised to show the access drive <br /> with a ten-foot setback was discussed at length. After hearing testimony from the representatives <br /> of the applicant, the Planning commission voted to recommend approval of the resolution without <br /> the proposed revision. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Approve Resolution No. 5262, a resolution approving a development review for SYSCO Foods <br /> to expand its operation located at 2400 County Road J, with stipulations as noted and <br /> amendments as needed. <br /> cjannA-2-Q <br /> James Ericson, Planning Associate <br /> Attachments: <br /> 1.
