PUBLIC SERVICE PROGRAM <br /> Community Development Services Program <br /> Function and Service Standards <br /> Community Development Services consists of the following programs: <br /> • Planning <br /> • Engineering <br /> • Development Review <br /> • Inspection <br /> • Code Enforcement <br /> The Community Development Department has as its focus the administrative application of land use and <br /> building regulations as adopted by the Municipal Code. The main goal of the Department is to ensure <br /> that development within the city is accomplished in accordance with the requirements spelled out in <br /> various City Codes, as well as planning and providing for a conducive living and working environment <br /> for Mounds View's resident population. <br /> PROGRAM OBJECTIVES ARE: <br /> • Planning and zoning review, zoning code enforcement, development review, planning and <br /> zoning code review; <br /> • Building, fire, and housing inspections; <br /> • Recycling coordination and reporting, coordinating educational activities to reduce solid waste <br /> disposal problems and creating incentives for recycling; <br /> • Maintaining records and coordinating construction of the city's infrastructure; <br /> • Implementing and enforcing zoning and sign code regulations, issuing permits, administering <br /> public nuisance codes related to land use; and <br /> • Housing rehabilitation program administration- including grant administration, rental inspection <br /> and promotion. <br />
