Administrator's Review/Recommendation: -No Comments to supplement this report -Comments attached. Explanation/Summary(attach supplement sheets as necessary) Summary: Attached is a draft of the cover letter and related schedules to be included in the 1997 Budget Newsletter. The newsletter needs to be to the printer by October 7th so we need any comments or proposed changes as soon as possible. In 1993, a video of approximately 20 minutes in length was prepared and aired prior to the budget meeting; the video highlighted the services that are provided with a narrative that discussed in very general terms the st of such services. In 1994, another video was prepared, however, its quality was lower than the previous ear. Last year, it does not appear that a video was prepared; based upon discussions with staff members, it appears that there was some discussion about changing the format to 30 second to several minute clips about the different services provided and related costs, however, nothing was prepared. For the current year, staff would like some input regarding whether the previous videos provided residents with meaningful information, whether such a video should be prepared this year, and if so, should the format be a longer video or several short clips focusing on one department or issue, and whether the content should focus on general information about a department and its budget or more detailed information. -----\ G Bruce Kessel, Finance Director OE COMMENDATION:
