POLICE <br /> • HOORAY!! The kids are back in school. Actually,it was a quiet Labor Day Weekend. <br /> Everyone must just be tired. <br /> • Tim Brennan gave a crime prevention talk at Silverpoint Apts. It was well attended by the <br /> senior citizens. <br /> • We are still in the training\learning process on our computer conversion.Naturally,there are <br /> a few bugs. Training is scheduled for the Officers this week and next. <br /> • As you may know,the Chief is being sued for 5 million. This time it is for libel and slander. <br /> The person suing is the same inmate in the Ohio Prison. An Attorney for the League has the <br /> case. He stated it should be dismissed quickly. <br /> Tim <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br /> Planning Commission discusses wireless telecommunications towers and antennas <br /> The Planning Commission conducted its first discussion of wireless telecommunications at its meeting <br /> on August 21. Representatives from the two companies who have been licensed for this type of <br /> service in the Twin Cities were present, as was Coralie Wilson from the North Suburban Cable <br /> Commission. The industry representatives and Ms. Wilson shared a significant amount of <br /> information. The discussion lasted about an hour, and will be continued on September 18. The <br /> Planning Commission appreciated a comparison chart prepared on ordinances from surrounding <br /> communities. They asked staff to prepare a list of questions which need to be answered before an <br /> ordinance can be drafted. <br /> Court case on 2091 Hillview concludes <br /> The Tenants Remedy Action suit concluded on Friday, August 16, 1996. Parliament Company has <br /> been appointed the administrator for the building and will be responsible for collecting rents and <br /> making repairs until the building is up to Code. Parliament has applied for a Community <br /> Development Block Grant, on behalf of the owner, which they are expecting to receive soon. The <br /> judge has indicated a tentative schedule:repairs to begin September 15, 1996 and conclude by October <br /> 15, 1996. <br /> Pedestrian Bridge <br /> The Ramsey County Commissioners will be considering whether to grant an easement for the <br /> pedestrian bridge proposed to be built over Highway 10 at their September 3 meeting. Pam and Mary <br /> Saarion will be attending to represent the City and answer any questions. <br />
