illDISCUSSION OF ABATEMENT OF 7685 KNOLLWOOD DRIVE <br /> AUGUST 12, 1996 CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> PAGE TWO OF TWO <br /> Mounds View Nuisance Code prohibits the"outside piling, storing or keeping of old machinery, <br /> junk, furniture, household furnishings or appliances or component parts thereof, rusting metal <br /> inoperable/unusable equipment, or other debris visible on private or public property." Failure to <br /> comply with the City Code is a misdemeanor. <br /> Staff has been working with this property since August 01, 1994 to remedy these code violations. <br /> An administrative offense for junk and debris and junked vehicles was issued on October 11, <br /> 1996. The violations remained and the A.O. was unpaid, and the owner, Mr. Pearson, failed to <br /> contact the City of Mound View. Citation No. 6-53164 was issued to Mr. Pearson, who failed to <br /> appear in court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. <br /> Numerous letters have been sent out to Mr. William Pearson regarding these violations. The most <br /> recent letters, dated June 07 and July 30, 1996 have been attached for your perusal. If you would <br /> like to review any additional documentation, Staff would be more than willing to provide <br /> requested information to Council. <br /> Since the issuance of an administrative offense and a citation, the property violations have not <br /> ,, been remedied. Staff is requesting the property be abated pursuant to Section 607.08 of the <br /> Municipal Code. <br /> Property owners within 350 feet of the 7685 Knollwood property have been mailed out notice of <br /> the proposed abatement. Attorney Long has prepared Resolution No. 4985, approving an <br /> abatement of the property for Council review and consideration. <br /> Staff has attached copies of photo documentation taken at the July 30, 1996 on-site inspection of <br /> the property.
