• The Bicycle Safety program is being held this Saturday at City Hall. Cathy Bednar,North
Suburban Schwinn staff, Parks and Recreation Commissioners and staff will be working
this program. Over 400 bicycle helmets are being distributed to Mounds View children
FREE. The funding for bicycle helmets was provided through a grant from Minnesota
Recreation&Parks Association.
FORESTRY:
• The Forestry crew prepared and planted the patio area behind City Hall addition with
bushes.
GOLF COURSE:
• John is working with Watertronics and Tri Metro regarding a mal-functioning pump. The
pump is yet on warrantee, but determining the exact reason that it is not working properly
is the immediate goal. John is frustrated because water at need is important especially
when fertilizing. John is keeping on top of the situation, and the companies are working
to determine the problem and remedy it as soon as possible.
FINANCE
• Dorothy is still answering utility questions this week. She is also making great progress
with solving the problems and reassuring the customers.
• Kitty has been spending the week receipting money for the City. Not a bad job, but this
week it is a big job. She is helping with the utility payments and handling the golf course
deposits.
• Both the 1995 financial report from the auditors and the renewal policy with the insurance
company were completed this week. The City is on strong grounds from both the
financial and insurability aspects.
• Dorothy, Kitty, and I are happy that Marge will still be at City Hall after this week. She
has been a wonderful asset to the Finance Department. We thank the Council for allowing
our department to hire Marge.
• The Finance Department wishes Audrey, the very best in her future endeavors. We are
sure that"Dinger"will not be retiring no matter what she chooses to do with her time and
energy. We will miss you, Audrey.
Mary T
