• The Volunteer's Brunch was held Saturday, April 27 at the Mermaid Banquet room. <br /> Approximately 65 volunteers attended and were recognized and appreciated for their many <br /> hours of service to the community. Each volunteer was given a volunteer shirt and poster. <br /> • The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed four proposals for replacing <br /> playground equipment at Random Park. Random Park play equipment has the greatest <br /> need for replacement considering that the equipment does not comply with current safety <br /> standards. The current equipment is approximately 15 years old which is the typical lifespan <br /> of playground equipment. Commissioners were in unanimous agreement regarding the play <br /> equipment proposal of choice. <br /> • City Newsletters were distributed to residences this past weekend. Registrations have been <br /> coming in fast and furiously. Staff is happy - but very busy with telephone calls, <br /> registrations and field and picnic permits. <br /> • Sharie is chaperoning a trip Thursday and Friday - Wisconsin Backroads. <br /> Mary S. <br /> FINANCE <br /> • Dorothy has been spending days entering credits to utility accounts before the <br /> billing can be send out to the customers, because the computer overestimated <br /> water usage for many accounts. There are also special billings for residencies <br /> where meter had to be exchanged during the quarter. She said, "I've had my <br /> head stuck in the computer all week". <br /> • Kitty said that 20 employees switched from HealthPartners to Medica this year. <br /> She made all the adjustment in last weeks <br /> • This week the auditors finished their field work here at City Hall. I have the <br /> normal year-end journal entries to make this week. Next week the exit interview <br /> with the auditors is scheduled. I will meet Friday, with our insurance agent, Chuck <br /> Clysdale to finalize some figures. <br /> Mary T. <br />
