Youth association practice requests have already begun. <br /> • <br /> RECREATION <br /> • Last week during Spring break, trips were offered for youth. Mary chaperoned 5 trips, one <br /> each day. This week Mary is providing three evening clinics of coaches training for the <br /> Irondale Baseball League, (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). In addition, Mary held the <br /> Adult Softball Managers meeting last Thursday and an umpires meeting this Monday. <br /> Sharie is preparing the May/June City Newsletter. Staff is submitting articles and <br /> information for this next edition. Irondale Girls Fastpitch Boosters Club will be delivering <br /> this publication to Mounds View homes and businesses. Summer programs are being <br /> publicized in this edition, so P & R staff have been planning and making arrangements for <br /> the myriad of programs and activities that are offered during the summer time. <br /> CABLE TV <br /> • The Cable TV Committee met last Thursday to plan the May edition of The View From the <br /> Mound. Rick Wriskey will provide information regarding trimming trees and bushes. <br /> Chuck Whiting will be interviewed as new Clerk-Administrator. The Bridges Golf Pro will <br /> provide a"Golf Tip of the Month". Dale Irving will be producing this program because Sue <br /> Henry's last day was April 12. Job ads have been submitted and applications are currently <br /> being taken for the position. Jerry Skelly Jr. will be completing the editing for the DARE <br /> tape to be presented at the DARE graduation. Sue had already shot the raw footage. Other <br /> projects will wait until the new staff person has been hired. <br /> FORESTRY <br /> • As usual, Rick is very busy during the Spring with planting. He and his New Brighton crew <br /> will be distributing trees from the Tree Sale this Friday evening and Saturday morning. <br /> Approximately 58 trees were ordered through the Tree Sale. Arbor Day activities will be <br /> held with school children. Rick will also be the"resident expert" for the Cable TV program <br /> "A View From the Mound" in the area of tree trimming and pruning. <br /> GOLF COURSE <br /> • The Golf Course opened last week. The course was full with early bird golfers. Temporary <br /> greens were set up and the fee was reduced to $5.00. Reservation telephone calls continue <br /> to be received throughout the daytime and evening from golfers wanting tee times: Leagues <br /> participant fees have been received. League schedules will be prepared for league <br /> commencement the week of May 6. The driving range continues to be busy especially <br /> during nice weather days. Clubhouse and Course Maintenance staff are working regular <br /> hours, which will increase as daylight increases and weather warms. <br /> Mary S. <br />
