Wetland South of the Bel-Rae: • I spoke to Terry Moses, Realtor for property south of the Bel-Rae and offered to purchase all three lots for $330,000 which was the appraised value of the project. I told him that we were only interested in purchasing all three lots. He will discuss this offer with the owner and get back to me. Ron's Suds & Shine Car Wash: • Ron's Suds & Shine Car Wash has a potential new owner. I received an inquiry regarding application for the Business Improvement Partnership Loan for improvements to the property. He will be making an appointment with Western Bank and I mailed him an application. Marketing Task Force: • The Marketing Task Force had a booth at Moundsview Square's Craft Fair on February 24th. They handed out information regarding the Marketing Program, Banner Celebration and sold 9 T-shirts and 3 Sweatshirts. Our supply is starting to diminish, therefore if any council member still needs a T-shirt or Sweatshirt please see me. They also held a raffle and had over 40 names in the drawing. There were three winners for Gift Certificates form the City of Mounds View Parks &Recreation, Mermaid and Addie Lane Floral. New Brighton\Mounds View Chamber of Commerce: • The New Brighton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted to officially change the name of the Chamber to the New Brighton/Mounds View Chamber of Commerce. This is a very positive step toward meeting the needs of Mounds View businesses. Board of Directors will include one Ex-Officio voting (staff) and one honorary position (mayor) from the City of Mounds View and at least one Mounds View business. I will be meeting with the Executive Director Jim Berem next week to discuss other benefits of the merge. The Cable Franchise expires the end of 1997 for the community members involved with NC S S. Under Federal Regulations, the Franchise Renewal process must start strategy planning 3 years in advance of the expiration.
