Police Year End Report <br /> 4111 Page Two <br /> January 26, 1996 <br /> * Members of our Reserve Unit and our Department participated <br /> in a tri-county disaster drill held in White Bear lake. <br /> * In May, Fedor's Market was a victim of a smash & grab. 'The <br /> store was hit a total of three times. A suspect was arrested <br /> and charged. <br /> * A crime prevention meeting was held a Wildwood Manor. <br /> * Pat Michna and the Chief attended data privacy seminar held <br /> in Minneapolis. <br /> * A five year old girl drown in her grandparent's bathtub. She <br /> had a history of seizures. <br /> * Tom Baumgart attended a week long crime prevention school. <br /> Bob Nelson attended a death scene investigation school in <br /> Duluth. <br /> Third Quarter <br /> * All members of the Department qualified at the shooting <br /> 1111 range. <br /> * Kathy Bednar and other members of the Department <br /> participated in a safety camp for 160 kids. <br /> * Steve Geringer was honored by MADD for once again leading <br /> the Department in DWI arrests. <br /> * The Department begin distribution of Viking Football cards. <br /> Each card contains safety tips and pictures of the players. <br /> * A new squad was delivered and converted for street use. <br /> * Tom Baumgart attended a week long training course to teach <br /> DARE at Edgewood Jr. High. <br /> * Dave Brick attended a three day seminar for Emergency <br /> Managers. Jack Chambers spent a week training to become a <br /> field training officer. <br /> * The Civil Service Commission met to begin the hiring process <br /> for the COPS grant officer. <br /> * The State conducted an audit of our Criminal Justice <br /> Reporting System. The audit went well and we received high <br /> 1111 marks. <br />
