0 -It is possible that a zoning change may be required for daycare utilization. If required, it is
111
anticipated that the procedure will take four(4) months, starting approximately January 2,
1997 with completion on or about April 18, 1997. The City will review and verify this
matter.
-The kitchen will have to be upgraded to comply with all codes at the same time the daycare
is under construction if the kitchen is to provide service to the daycare.
- Security issues for the daycare needs to be reviewed.
-Expansion for the daycare needs to be reviewed.
- Signage, Windows, Colors for the daycare need to be reviewed.
A meeting was scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 1996 at 3:00 PM, at the offices of Children's
Home Society in St. Paul to develop the program for the daycare facility. (note-free parking)
Construction methodology was asked by Dave Wolterstorff to Chuck Whiting, would the City prefer
General or Construction Manager(CM)bids and construction?Past history of WAI/Continuum has
indicated the CM process to be more economical and more informative on pricing and construction
concerns. Chuck indicated the CM method makes the most sense given the fast track construction
process needed for this project.
0 Final approval of the daycare and community center planning, along with a direction to proceed has
not been granted by the City Council at this time, however, the City(Chuck Whiting) gave verbal
approval for WAUContinuum to proceed with the programming phase of the project along with any
110 associated preliminary sketches required.
The daycare phase of the project will proceed as indicated, while awaiting a decision by the City
Council.
End of meeting.
These meeting minutes as presented shall be regarded as accurate and correct, unless any
discrepancies are provided to the author within five (5)working days of delivery.
i
