<br /> <br />www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us <br /> <br /> <br />parking lot with several semi trucks. K9 Niko alerted on the rear tire of one of the <br />trucks. Officers called out for the suspect to come out. The suspect surrendered and <br />came out from her hiding location saying that she would come out as long as officers <br />keep the dog away from her. <br />On 6-3-2016 Officers were called to the 2200 block of Lois Drive where several <br />juvenile males were rummaging through cars parked in driveways, stealing money <br />that was in the vehicles. When officers arrived on scene, the suspects fled on foot <br />through the residences. They left behind three vehicles that were running. The K9 <br />team tracked for the suspects while other officers determined that the three running <br />vehicles were stolen. The track led south to the area of County Road I and Quincy <br />Street. Four juvenile males were located and taken into custody. <br />On 6-5-2016 K9 Niko was invited to do a K9 demonstration for the Blaine Aviation <br />days. Niko showed the public his skills in obedience, agility, evidence searching, <br />suspect searching, handler protection, and suspect apprehension. <br />On 6-28-2016 K9 Niko competed in the annual USPCA Police Dog Trial <br />Certifications. Niko certified to continue working as a Police Dog and achieved <br />perfect scores in suspect searches and suspect apprehension with gunfire. <br /> <br />S.A.V.E <br />(Safe Adult Validation and Education program) <br /> <br />The SAVE program was created to provide piece of mind and education to our senior <br />citizens at least 65 years of age or older who are living on their own. Those who sign <br />up for the program will be required to call into the SAVE voicemail line every day <br />(not including weekends and holidays) to inform us of their wellbeing. <br />If someone is interested in the SAVE program, they must first come in to meet with <br />us so we can determine their eligibility and gather all necessary information from <br />them (emergency contacts, key holders, health concerns etc.).
