<br /> <br />www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2016 Towards Zero Deaths 3rd Quarter Report <br />04/01/2016 – 06/30/2016 <br />The spring/ summer months is generally a busy time for the Ramsey County Traffic <br />Safety Initiative (RCTSI). The RCTSI partners with the Minnesota Office of Traffic <br />Safety in the Toward Zero Deaths program. In the 3rd quarter, the Mounds View <br />Police Department participated in 5 DWI, a Distracted Driving and a Seatbelt <br />enforcement detail. <br />The first DWI saturation was held on April 8th and was hosted by the Saint Anthony <br />Police Department. Sergeant Zender and Officer Martin participated in this event. <br />They conducted 22 traffic stops. Sergeant Zender made a DWI arrest during this <br />event. <br />The second DWI saturation occurred on May 13th and was hosted by the Ramsey <br />County Sheriff Office. Officer Garland and I participated in this event. We made 26 <br />traffic stops during the event. No DWI arrests were made but I did make an arrest for <br />‘driving canceled inimical to public safety’ were the driver registered a .06 on the <br />PBT. <br />The third DWI saturation was conducted on June 5th and was hosted by the Saint Paul <br />Police Department. Officer Martin worked this event. He conducted 13 traffic stops <br />but was not able to locate an impaired driver. <br />The fourth DWI saturation was held on June 17th and was hosted by the Saint <br />Anthony Police Department. Officer Martin participated in this event. He conducted <br />10 traffic stops. No DWI arrests were made but he cited a driver for ‘drive after <br />suspension’. <br />The fifth DWI saturation occurred on June 25th and was hosted by the White Bear <br />Lake Police Department. Officer Meyer worked this event. He made 9 traffic stops.
