RESOLUTION 8636 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING BUILDING ALTERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE ITEMS FOR RANDOM PARK AND GROVELAND PARK SHELTER BUILDINGS WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing the Building Maintenance needs for the various Park shelters, and; WHEREAS, the Random and Groveland Park shelter buildings are used for City programs and rented to the general public, and; WHEREAS, in 2006, the club house from the City owned golf course, was moved to Random Park to replace the shelter building, and; WHEREAS, the Groveland Park shelter building was built in 2006, and; WHEREAS, these park buildings have seen minor and routine maintenance repairs over the past 10 years, and; WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation and Forestry Commission toured the buildings and heard concerns of the appearance and condition of the shelter buildings and; WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has received quotes from vendors for the needed building maintenance and alterations. WHEREAS, RAK Construction provided an estimate for the building alterations and maintenance needs. The Commission reviewed all the options and decided to move forward with the following items: • Outside building maintenance needs to include wrapping the soffits and fascia, and repairing weathered or rotten wood Estimated cost $10,175.00 • Inside building demo wall of old office in Northwest corner, patch walls and ceiling, relocate sprinklers and relocate the electrical created by the demo work Estimated cost $6,883.86 • Update lighting to from mercury vapor to LED Estimated cost $6,434.18 less rebate from Xcel Energy of $1,594.33 • New Carpet installed in the building Estimated cost $4,564.34 • Painting of ceilings and walls Estimated cost $300.00
