<br /> <br />RESOLUTION 8636 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING BUILDING ALTERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE ITEMS FOR <br />RANDOM PARK AND GROVELAND PARK SHELTER BUILDINGS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing the <br />Building Maintenance needs for the various Park shelters, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Random and Groveland Park shelter buildings are used for City <br />programs and rented to the general public, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 2006, the club house from the City owned golf course, was moved <br />to Random Park to replace the shelter building, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Groveland Park shelter building was built in 2006, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these park buildings have seen minor and routine maintenance <br />repairs over the past 10 years, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation and Forestry Commission toured the <br />buildings and heard concerns of the appearance and condition of the shelter buildings <br />and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has received quotes from vendors for the needed <br />building maintenance and alterations. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, RAK Construction provided an estimate for the building alterations <br />and maintenance needs. The Commission reviewed all the options and decided to <br />move forward with the following items: <br /> <br />• Outside building maintenance needs to include wrapping the soffits and <br />fascia, and repairing weathered or rotten wood <br />Estimated cost $10,175.00 <br />• Inside building demo wall of old office in Northwest corner, patch walls and <br />ceiling, relocate sprinklers and relocate the electrical created by the demo <br />work <br />Estimated cost $6,883.86 <br />• Update lighting to from mercury vapor to LED <br />Estimated cost $6,434.18 less rebate from Xcel Energy of <br />$1,594.33 <br />• New Carpet installed in the building <br />Estimated cost $4,564.34 <br />• Painting of ceilings and walls <br />Estimated cost $300.00 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
