Resolution 8320, a Resolution Canvassing Election Results of the 2014 2 <br />General Election. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reviewed the results of the recent election and requested the 5 <br />Council adopt a Resolution canvassing the election results for the 2014 General Election. 6 <br /> 7 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8320, a 8 <br />Resolution Canvassing Election Results of the 2014 General Election. 9 <br /> 10 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 11 <br /> 12 <br /> C. Presentation – Ramsey County Sheriff Matt Bostrom 13 <br /> 14 <br />Ramsey County Sheriff Matt Bostrom thanked the Council for their time and discussed the 15 <br />policing efforts taking place in Ramsey County. He was pleased by the efforts of the Mounds 16 <br />View Police Department to keep the community safe and noted the County was always available 17 <br />to provide support. He provided further comment on the core functions of the Ramsey County 18 <br />Sheriff’s Department. He was proud of the progress the County was making based on 19 <br />operational changes made over the past four years. He thanked the City of Mounds View for 20 <br />supporting and purchasing the new records management and CAD system. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Council Member Mueller asked if the County was investigating the use of body cams for its 23 <br />officers. Sheriff Bostrom discussed the various types of body cams available and believed the 24 <br />use of them would become the industry standard in the near future. He reported that the body 25 <br />cams were less expensive than in-car cameras and would catch the officers doing great work in 26 <br />the community. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Mueller requested comment on the John Choi event. Sheriff Bostrom 29 <br />explained the event addressed domestic violence and how to interrupt the cycle of violence. He 30 <br />was pleased that the entire County had adopted a blueprint on how to investigate and address 31 <br />domestic violence. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Sheriff Bostrom for his presentation and for his dedicated service to 34 <br />Ramsey County. 35 <br /> 36 <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 37 <br /> C. Resolution 8322, Authorizing the Issuance, Sale and Delivery of a Revenue 38 <br />Obligation for the Benefit of Catholic Eldercare; Authorizing the Execution 39 <br />and Delivery of the Revenue Obligation and Related Documents; and Taking 40 <br />Other Actions Related Thereto. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Finance Director Beer explained the Council held a public hearing and preliminarily authorized 43 <br />the issuance of conduit debt for the benefit of Catholic Eldercare. He recommended that the 44 <br />Council approve the issuance of $4 million in conduit debt along with the execution and delivery 45
