Reroofing of the Booster Station, and Well House No. 2 is <br />estimated at $39,00 for a total cost of $194,000 maintaining the overall budget. <br /> <br />Proposed Project Schedule <br />The project requires a public bid process since the total construction costs are expected to exceed <br />$100,000. The advertisement for bid will need to be posted 21-days in advance of the bid opening. <br />All qualified masonry contractors are invited to bid. The following is a proposed schedule based <br />upon a public bid process: <br /> <br />February 23 City Council approves Bid Docs./Authorizes Ad for Bid <br />March 9 Advertisement for Bid posted <br />March 24 Pre-Bid meeting with potential bidders <br />March 31 Bid Opening <br />April 13 City Council awards construction contract <br />May 4 Construction begins <br />June 20-26 Construction Complete <br /> <br />Inspec will provide assistance during the bidding phase. The scope of services will include <br />answering bidders’ questions, attending the pre-bid meeting, issuing any addendums, reviewing the <br />bids received, and recommending a bidder to award the project. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution which will approve the bidding <br />documents authorize Inspec to perform the additional design services, and authorize advertisement <br />for bids for the masonry renovation of the three water facilities. If adopted, Inspec will finalize plans <br />and specifications to be readied for distribution to potential bidders. A bid opening date of March 31, <br />2015 at 10:00 am will be tentatively set. Inspec will be authorized to perform the additional design <br />services for an amount not to exceed $7,800. Monies to fund this work are budgeted under 700- <br />4823-7050.
